Simonton Windows has announced plans to transition various corporate functions to Columbus, Ohio, where it already operates a new product development center. The Columbus location will serve as the company’s corporate headquarters beginning in 2011. Simonton will also retain its current corporate location in Parkersburg, W.Va., as home to several key functions. Each location will house approximately 75 team members when the transition is complete by mid-2011.

“This initiative represents the latest in a series of growth-oriented initiatives for Simonton,” says Mark Savan, president of Simonton Windows. “During the last several years we have aggressively reorganized numerous areas of our business with the goal of continuing our market share gains as the economy recovers. Strengthening our Columbus presence makes sense from a geographic and commercial perspective. Columbus provides us with greater accessibility to our national customer base and suppliers, and is more centrally located between our manufacturing facilities in West Virginia, Illinois, Oklahoma and California. At the same time, we’re pleased to maintain our deep roots in West Virginia and our strong commitment to the state’s excellent workforce.”

Simonton plans to retain its current Briscoe Road location in Parkersburg as home to functions including customer service, marketing services and information technology. The company currently employs more than 1,000 people in West Virginia. The company says the initiative will have no impact on the manufacturing facilities located in California, Illinois, Oklahoma and West Virginia.
