WMA Updates Its Rating System for Doors

May 29th, 2015 by Casey Flores

The World Millwork Alliance (WMA) is revising a rule in order to rate doors better.

It will formally be known as “WMA Revision BSR/AMD 100-201x, Structural Performance Ratings of Side-Hinged Exterior Door Systems and Procedures for Component Substitution (revision of ANSI/AMD 100-2013)” (or AMD 100 for short). The rule will provide door pre-hangers and distributors a way to test and rate the structural performance of a side-hinged exterior door system, and qualify components for substitution in that rated system.

“This revision cycle is limited in scope to the revisions herein proposed; it does not include a review of the entire document,” a WMA statement reads.

Changes will be made on p. 32-37 of the document, which can be viewed here.
