Pennsylvania-based Windowizards was in the news before Christmas when Fox News reported that the company had closed its doors after a problem with a supplier then reopened.

As of January 4, 2011, the website states the following: “As you may already be aware, Windowizards has suspended operations due to an unanticipated interruption of deliveries of windows for customer installation. We deeply apologize for the uncertainty and angst that this situation has caused our loyal customers and dedicated employee and installer family. Be assured that we are working day and night to resolve the issues and resume normal installations as quickly as possible. We intend to continue our half century of serving thousands of customers in the Delaware Valley. We thank everyone for their patience, support and understanding in this difficult time.”

DWM was unable to reach company officials for further comment at press time.

In other news at Windowwizards, the company and the manufacturer with whom it works, OKNA Windows, are in settlement discussions with plaintiffs in the class-action lawsuit filed against it in July 2009, according to documents filed in the case. In the suit, the plaintiffs allege that the company advertised that some of its windows were foam-filled, while they were found to have little or no foam inside. On December 16, 2010, a motion was filed in the U.S. District Court of New Jersey to settle the case. The judge was set to make a decision by January 10.
