Window Nation Acquired by AEA Investors

July 23rd, 2021 by Drew Vass

Officials for AEA Investors’ middle market private equity team announced the acquisition of Window Nation Holding, a Fulton, Md.-based door and window dealer. AEA, a firm that acts as a “private investment vehicle for a select group of industrial family offices,” manages funds that have over $15 billion of capital, including the leveraged buyouts of middle market companies, officials said.

Founded in 2006, by brothers Harley Magden and Aaron Magden, Window Nation is a direct-to-consumer dealer for residential repair and replacement in 15 markets across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions of the U.S. The company opened four new markets in 2020-21, and currently has approximately 550 employees.

According to a press release issued by AEA, Window Nation “has a highly differentiated commercial engine that drives top and middle of the funnel advantages, resulting in outsized share gains within both existing and new markets.” The investment “represents an opportunity to partner with a strong management team with a proven track record of success within the attractive home services industry, specifically the replacement window sector, which is a large, growing and fragmented market,” officials said.
