Seven window-related companies were named to Inc. Magazine’s annual Inc. 5000 list, proving once again that there are window companies out there thriving and even growing.

Power Home Remodeling Group offers home improvement services including doors, siding, roofing and attic insulation. The company, based in Chester, Pa., came in at number 2,701 and has appeared on the list since 2010 (in 2012 it ranked 1,439). The company grew 130 percent from 74.9 million in revenue in 2009 to 172.2 million in 2012. The company appeared on the list in 2012 (number 3,574) and 2010.

Drexel Building Supply, provider of building materials and services to professional contractors and homeowners based in Campbellsport, Wis., came in at number 3,543 and also appeared on the list in 2012 (number 3,405), 2009 and 2007. The company grew 86 percent from 36.9 million in revenue in 2009 to 68.6 million in 2012. The company was also named to DWM magazine’s list of fastest growing dealers in 2013 (see DWM, July/August, page 18).

ABC Supply, distributor of windows, roofing, siding and other select exterior building products, based in Beloit, Wis., came in at number 3,853 and this marks the company’s sixth appearance on the list. The company grew 73 percent from 2.7 billion in revenue in 2009 to 4.7 billion in 2012.

Solar Innovations, provider of aluminum and glass products, including doors, windows, and skylights, ranked at number 3,974 and also appeared in 2012 (number 3,422). The company grew 68 percent from 10.3 million in revenue in 2009 to 17.4 million in 2012.

Universal Windows Direct, a home improvement company based in Oakwood Village, Ohio, with 30 locations, came in at number 2,752. The company sells doors, windows, insulation, siding, gutter protection and other home maintenance products. In three years the company grew 127 percent from 2.7 million in revenue in 2009 to 6.1 million in 2012. This marks the company’s debut on the Inc. list.

America’s Window, based in Borden, Ind., came in at number 4,877. The company, which offers replacement windows, doors and gutter products, grew 39 percent from 10.9 million in revenue in 2009 to 15.1 million in 2012. The company appeared on the list in 2012 (number 3,574) and 2010.

Thompson Creek Window Company is no stranger to the Inc. ranking as it has appeared since 2008. The Lanham, Md., based company came in at number 3,823. Thompson Creek grew 75 percent from 30.4 million in revenue in 2009 to 53.1 million in 2012.
