Masonite International Corp., manufacturer of interior and exterior doors, was recognized by Underwriters Laboratories’ (UL) Building and Life Safety Technologies team for its wood fire-rated door safety. The company received the UL Dedication to Safety award which recognizes commitment to safety testing and innovation. This is the first year the award has been handed out, though Masonite has been working with UL for many years, officials said.

“We have worked side-by-side with Masonite for more than 40 years to help ensure opening solutions are created on which building occupants can rely,” said Christopher Hasbrook, vice president and general manager of the Building and Life Safety Technologies Division at UL. “We appreciate Masonite’s continued commitment to UL certification and recognize their efforts to tackle today’s safety challenges.”

UL is a third-party research and testing company, conducting product testing and evaluations across a wide array of industries.
