The Vinyl Building Council (VBC), a self-funded business council of the Vinyl Institute (VI), appointed Kate Offringa as the group’s first executive director. Offringa will oversee the VBC’s strategic direction and operational excellence as the council coordinates the vinyl industry’s federal and state advocacy in the building and construction sectors.

“I am thrilled with the opportunity to work with such a vibrant industry and one that is bringing to market so many valued building products in meeting society’s needs,” says Offringa. “I see that the VBC has been off to a tremendous start over the past year with significant wins at the federal and state level, most notably with GSA and in Ohio. As we work to engage the broader vinyl value chain in support or our industry’s advocacy agenda we will use this momentum to gain even more successes that will benefit vinyl product producers across all sectors. Working together as an industry through the VBC will pay significant dividends.”

Prior to joining the VBC, Offringa served as the president and CEO of the North American Insulation Manufacturers Association. Prior to that position, Offringa served as the association’s vice president of public affairs. She also served as the director of market transformation with the Alliance to Save Energy.
