The Vision Group of Companies (Vision Group), based in Woodbridge, Ontario, recently announced a new coatings division. Positioned under Sunview Patio Doors (a Vision company), officials say Vision Coatings Limited will service extrusion companies, window fabricators and others in the industry.

Tony Margiotta, president of Sunview Patio Doors and Vision Coatings Limited, says the new endeavor stems from demand, which he partly attributes to new technologies.

“Now, 35- to 45-percent of the product is painted,” Margiotta says. And while Sunview previously offered coatings on a basis that was subject to availability, “… when we invested in the UV ToughCoat system several years ago, it significantly raised the bar on our quality, turnaround times and flexibility,” he adds. “Shortly after some of our clients and people from other Vision Group divisions saw what it could do, they began asking if they could outsource their finishing with us. It finally reached the point where it made sense to establish a separate company to better serve the market.”

The new 50,000-square-foot operation officially launched November 5, 2018, and is located in Vaughan’s business park, in the Greater Toronto area, where it’s close to major highways.
