Solar Innovations Celebrates 20th Anniversary in April
April 3rd, 2018 by EditorSolar Innovations Architectural Glazing Systems will celebrate its 20th anniversary in business on April 15. Since 1998, Solar has been making residential and commercial greenhouses, garden windows, conservatories, sunrooms, skylights and more for its customers.
The company began in Hellam, Pa., in a 10,000-square-foot building with 12 team members. Two years later, the team was doubled and production space was four times larger when it moved to Myerstown, Pa. In 2009, Solar had grown into a 224,000-square-foot building with 97 team members in Pine Grove, Pa. Now, Solar has more 170 team members, three production buildings and more than 360,000 square feet of space.
In addition to growth, Solar Innovations also prides itself on being environmentally conscious. The company, which is LEED Gold certified, says its corporate campus is 98.5 percent landfill free, 85 percent off the grid, reuses all packing materials, manufactures energy-efficient products and encourages team members to carpool.
“As we move forward as a company, I’m excited to see what we can accomplish as a team while positively impacting the community and our team members,” said president Greg Header. “The 20th anniversary is a milestone that I originally had no intention of meeting. It seems kind of surreal that this has been over half of my adult life, but that’s what happens when you fall in love with the industry.”
