Sierra Door Co., based in Scottsdale, Ariz., recently donated 2,150 AugustaWood® solid wood interior doors to Houston Habitat for Humanity. Transportation and delivery support were provided by one of Sierra’s customers, DW Distribution.

Four truckloads have been delivered this week. When the doors are installed, more than 200 families will benefit, according to the company.

Mike Quirino, Habitat ReStore general manager, and Dane Kelley, DW representative, shake hands as the first shipment of Sierra doors arrives at the Habitat ReStore facility in Houston.

“As a native Houstonian, I feel fortunate to support Habitat for Humanity in building homes for families in need,” says James Williams, Sierra owner and CEO. “I hope these doors bring years of enjoyment and security to those who receive them. We first worked with Habitat during the Hurricane Katrina recovery efforts. Today, it is equally rewarding to help families as they reestablish themselves in Houston.”

The donation includes a variety of door heights, widths and styles within the AugustaWood® product line. The doors are made from Cunninghamia Lanceolata, a sweetly scented cypress.

The entire Sierra donation will be sold through the Houston Habitat ReStore, a non-profit home improvement store and donation center offering building materials at deeply discounted prices.
