Roto Frank of America Officials Attend Academy of Science and Engineering Event

Roto Frank of America president and CEO Chris Dimou, and human resource manager Sylviana Lopez, attended the Connecticut Academy of Science and Engineering’s 44th annual meeting and dinner on behalf of the company recently. The event honored young inventors through the Connecticut Invention Convention, provided scholarships and awarded those in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) programs.

The keynote speaker at the event was Dr. Meg Urry, who is the Israel Munson Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Yale University. She spoke on how astrophysics can help solve humanity’s big challenges. Among others, Cynthia Chen was awarded first place in the physical sciences’ senior division for her project “A Green Nanotechnological Approach for Energy Efficiency and Conservation: Tungsten-doped Vanadium Dioxide Thermochromic Smart Windows.”

The Connecticut Academy is a non-profit institution that identifies and studies issues and technological advancements that are or should be of concern to the state of Connecticut.
