Ply Gem, Habitat for Humanity Team on Home for Good Project
May 23rd, 2016 by EditorPly Gem is partnering with Habitat for Humanity homeowner families in support of the Home for Good project, a campaign to build affordable housing across America.
The Home for Good project is a multi-year initiative that includes an annual donation of more than $1 million in funds andĀ building products for Habitat for Humanity to help families build nearly 300 homes throughout the year. In addition, Ply Gem will be the presenting sponsor of Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz, a major home building event in which professional builders will build homes alongside nearly 250 families in 31 states from June 6-10. Ply Gem has supported the project with advertising and social media initiatives to encourage its associates; the building industry, including distributors, builders and remodelers; and consumers across the country to volunteer in their communities.
“For the last 70-plus years, Ply Gem has offered exterior home building products and solutions for consumers to build their dream homes,” said Gary Robinette, chairman and CEO, Ply Gem. “As a manufacturer in this industry, it became clear that we wanted to use our equity for good. Our donation to Habitat for Humanity allows us to expand our reach to communities in need of affordable housing and do our part in helping creating housing that ultimately contributes to the overall well-being of individuals and communities across America. We are eager to see the transformation in families who will have a place to call home over the next year.”
Ply Gem’s donation to Habitat for Humanity for the Home for Good project includes performance windows and siding.
“As a manufacturer of home building products, Ply Gem understands the value a home adds to someone’s life, which is why we are so excited about our partnership,” said Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. “The Home for Good project will enable us to work with more families in need of a decent and affordable place to call home. Through this partnership, more families across the U.S. can achieve strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.”
The Home for Good project is grounded in country superstar Alan Jackson’s song You Can Always Come Home.
