NFRC Celebrates 30 Years

The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) is celebrating 30 years of servicing the fenestration industry. The non-profit has worked since 1989 to set industry standards for windows, doors and skylights. To mark the occasion, NFRC is starting a campaign called Mission Possible: Celebrating NFRC’s 30th Anniversary, which shares and highlights accomplishments made by the NFRC over the last 30 years, as well as accomplishments made by its members.

“Over the past 30 years we have shown commitment to the fenestration industry and watched it grow,” says Deb Callahan, CEO at NFRC. “From the development of the first NFRC label in 1993 to the Energy Star program being implemented nationally in 1997 and the launch of the FenStar certification program in 2017, we look forward to our bright future and partnership with our members to improve the fenestration industry and leave a lasting legacy.”

The anniversary comes after the NFRC recently announced a new mission and vision for the organization, including a new five-year plan that’s set to be completed by 2024.

“Consumers are demanding more energy-efficient windows, doors, and skylights,” says Paul Bush, NFRC board chairman. “As the building and construction industries embrace this change, NFRC will continue to provide the most rigorous and comprehensive testing to ensure consumers have all of the information they need to make an informed purchase.”
