Marvin Windows and Doors was awarded the 2014 American Business Ethics Award (ABEA) by the Foundation for Financial Service Professionals during an awards presentation on Tuesday in Warroad, Minn. Marvin was chosen as the winner in the large company category for exemplifying high standards of ethical conduct in the workplace, the marketplace and the community, according to the company.

³It is an honor to receive this award and to be recognized on a national level for our commitment to doing the right thing for our employees, communities and customers,” says John W. “Jake” Marvin, chair and CEO of The Marvin Companies. “As my father once told me, a company is, plain and simple, people. It was how our company began, and it is the core purpose of our business today. Staying true to the values that have guided us over the years; integrity, excellence and respect for others has been, and always will be, the keys to our success.”

Created in 1994 by the Foundation for Financial Service Professionals, the ABEA honors businesses that act in an ethical manner in regards to everyday business practices. Eligible businesses must be nominated, and provide comprehensive information about their ethics plan, as well as specific examples of how they have put their plan into action.
