Kodiak Building Partners Acquires Diamond Home Improvement
December 19th, 2022 by EditorKodiak Building Partners, a building materials distribution acquisition firm based in Highlands Ranch, Colo., has acquired Diamond Home Improvement (DHI).
In a press release, Kodiak says the acquisition will expand its market reach in the Northwest, providing building materials and lumber, doors and windows, moulding and millwork, and more quality tools and materials. Diamond Home Improvement is a locally owned and family-operated home improvement retailer headquartered in Southern Oregon, with locations in Klamath Falls and Grants Pass. Tim Steiner and his brother, Jay, started DHI in 2000 to provide what they call “high-quality service” and great prices to Oregon’s building community.
“Tim Steiner built a 22-year track record of success by combining deep industry expertise, longstanding client relationships, and solutions that address local needs,” said Steve Swinney, CEO of Kodiak. “This acquisition strengthens our ability to serve the Pacific Northwest and increase our capabilities in the Southern Oregon area and align us with one of the region’s most highly regarded home improvement companies.”
“Kodiak has been successful in extending its general lumber operations in the Pacific Northwest and has the right focus, assets, and capabilities to realize the full potential of Diamond Home Improvement and its strong market presence,” said Kelly Fox, senior vice president of General Lumber at Kodiak. “Tim Steiner built the best team and an industry legacy through DHI, and we will continue to support that legacy with local autonomy, customer focus, and innovation in the building materials space.”
Before founding Diamond Home Improvement, Tim Steiner was part of his family’s business, Lumberjack. Tim passed away on October 16, 2022. His legacy continues through his company, family and deep involvement in the Southern Oregon community. Following Tim’s passing, John Steiner took over as president of DHI.
“My uncle founded the company as a customer-first operation, and joining Kodiak gives us more resources that we can use to better serve the business and people that count on us,” said John Steiner, general manager of DHI. “It was his vision of DHI as a premium service for the home improvement industry that set the foundation for what this company has become today. My team and I are committed to embodying his drive for success, generosity, and passion through the future of Diamond Home Improvement.”
