Kodiak Building Partners Acquires AO Inc.August 11th, 2014 by Editor
Denver-based Kodiak Building Partners has purchased all the assets of AO Inc., a Dallas-based manufacturer and distributor of doors, frames and hardware to commercial contractors for the office market.
“We are very excited about having the AO team join forces with us. Their expertise in serving the market for both new office facilities and tenant improvement work fits into our diverse approach to U.S. construction markets,” says Kodiak president chief operating officer, Steve Swinney.
Kevin Skaggs, founder and owner of AO, adds, “After over twelve years of nurturing and growing AO into a leader in this market, I’m pleased to see that this transaction offers a smooth transition for our AO team, our customers and our suppliers.”
This acquisition marks another step in Kodiak’s growth in the Texas market. With the its 2012 acquisition of Gulf & Basco in Houston and 2014 acquisition of Factory Builder Stores in San Antonio, Kodiak how serves the state’s three most populated cities.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Michael Collins of Building Industry Advisors assisted Kodiak with the acquisition.
