Jack Cortese to Receive 2014 Ron Taylor AwardAugust 25th, 2014 by Editor
Jack Cortese will receive the Association of Millwork Distributors’ (AMD) 2014 Ron Taylor Award of Integrity and Commitment on October 19, 2014, at the AMD 50th Annual Convention and Tradeshow in Tampa, Fla. According to the press release, Cortese was recognized as an individual who exemplifies the talent to connect with people, fearless in commitments, the ability to contribute to any endeavor – resulting in a lasting positive impression.
After leaving the U.S. Navy in 1970, Cortese started his 44 year career in the construction industry, first working on the north tower of the World Trade Center. In 1973, he started a mechanical contracting firm which he sold in 1985. Cortese then joined the Germinsky Electrical Group as the vice president of finance and administration. In 1998, Cortese became the chief financial officer at Bridgewater Wholesalers. In 2001, he became the company president.
According to the press release, Cortese is actively involved in several charity efforts, most notably with Habitat for Humanity.
