When it comes to pro sales, the path for doors and windows often begins with product specifications by designers and architects. Meanwhile, a study conducted by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) indicates that the single most important factor for “getting spec’ed” prior to research includes architects’ relationships with manufacturer representatives.

The 2019 Windows and Patio Doors Satisfaction Study by J.D. Power measured satisfaction among customers based on manufacturer brand performance in three factors: appearance and design features; operational performance and durability; and warranty.
“To the typical window customer, it may be difficult to distinguish between two different window brands just based on appearance alone, which means manufacturers and retailers must put forth the effort to differentiate themselves through trust,” said Christina Cooley, a home intelligence lead for J.D. Power.
