IGMA Hosts Summer Tech Conferences; Announces Complimentary Member Benefits

August 8th, 2014 by Editor

The Insulating Glass Manufacturers Alliance (IGMA) hosted its Summer Technical Conference this week in Quebec City, Canada. The event included three days of insulating glass (IG) technical discussion, work and networking among industry leaders. Among the many discussions, the group also announced that “all insulating glass industry members could receive most benefits of membership in the organization for the remainder of 2014 without paying member dues.”

“We are very confident that the technical expertise represented by IGMA is the best in the industry,” says IGMA president Frank Caporiccio of PPG. “As such, the benefits of membership in the organization are a vital part of success for most companies. Once a company has experienced what we have to offer, we feel membership in IGMA becomes absolutely necessary to them.”

IG industry companies may visit www.igmaonline.org and fill out a member application to receive the complementary benefits. The offer is good through the remainder of the year.

Among the sessions that took place during the event, the first day featured work by the Emerging Technology and Innovation Committee, as well as the Glass Safety Awareness Council. Chair Mike Burk of Intigral gave a presentation updating attendees of glass industry safety initiatives and accidents. ETI Committee chair Helen Sanders of Sage Electrochromics, meanwhile, covered various task group activities, including the Gas Permeability Working Group, the Vacuum Insulated Glazing task group and the NREL Advanced Fenestration Testing work group. Sanders also gave a presentation on daylighting and its effects on the human body.
