Huttig Building Products Inc. recently hired Matt Thompson to be the general manager of its operations in Columbus, Ohio.

“I am extremely excited to have Matt join the Huttig team,” said Robert Pearce, regional vice president for Huttig. “His customer-centric attitude and industry knowledge will be a huge asset to our customers.”

Thompson comes to Huttig with more than 20 years of sales and leadership experience within the building materials industry. Previously, Matt worked as a VP and as a GM in the Columbus market for five years with Palmer Donavin/Seal-Rite Door.  While there, he was responsible for growing sales, strategic planning, controlling purchasing, improving production departments and managing 250 employees.

He oversaw the relationships with Home Depot, Lowes, 84 Lumber, Window World, and others.
