Have Some Virtual Fun During GlassCon Global-GlassExpo VE

September 3rd, 2020 by Editor

It won’t be all products and seminars on Sept-9 and 10 during GlassCon Global-GlassExpo VE–organizers have many fun virtual events planned as well. The virtual platform contains many opportunities to engage and interact between exhibitors and attendees, including a show floor where attendees can chat with 80 exhibitors about the latest products. The educational line-up includes 24 sessions in three tracks, complete with live question-and-answer sessions with presenters. But it also includes many great opportunities to network and relax with colleagues.

Run with Colleagues

The event starts with an optional, preshow Virtual 5K designed to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Open to runners and walkers, participants in Run for Glass VE 5K receive authentic race medals, t-shirts and downloadable race bibs. Registration is $35 (separate from GlassCon Global VE-Glass Expo VE).

“When we began working on plans for Glass Expo VE, we knew we wanted it to be something unlike other virtual events, and to offer participants additional activities so that it would feel more like a live event,” says Holly Biller, vice president of digital media services for Key Media & Research, parent company of [DWM] and USGlass magazines. “Since we know there are many people in the industry who enjoy both running and walking, we decided that offering a virtual 5K as an option would be a fun and healthy extracurricular activity.”

Wine, Meditation and Yoga

Other virtual networking activities include a virtual wine tasting, sponsored by Groves Inc. on Wednesday evening hosted by Chris Fronsoe of DeaMor Associates. In 90 minutes, Fronsoe will teach you how to smell, taste and drink wine like a professional. His expertise will give a deeper understanding and appreciation of wine. Come hang out with the glass, glazing and fenestration industry family to imbibe and be happy. When registering for the event, choose the wine tasting and you will receive info on purchasing the wines.

Plan to start your Thursday morning with Morning Meditation and Yoga. It will begin with a yoga session and end with a ten-minute meditation. Join Irene Francis, Yoga and Reiki Level 2 Instructor, by logging into the Plenary Auditorium and begin your day in a balanced frame of mind.

Finish your GlassCon Global VE and Glass Expo VE experience with a little time to network with industry members at the Closing Happy Hour. Visit the Plenary Auditorium Thursday from 6 – 7 p.m. and BYOB (bring your own beverage). Launch the Closing Happy Hour to visit colleagues virtually from the comfort of your own home.
