GlassCon Global VE – Glass Expo VE Keynote Speaker Announced
August 17th, 2020 by EditorShow organizers for GlassCon Global VE – Glass Expo VE announced that Dr. Franz Prettenthaler, M.Litt, the Director of LIFE Institute for Climate, Energy and Society at Joanneum Research, and one of the world’s experts on economic climate impact and risk modeling, will provide the keynote address at the upcoming virtual event.
Climatologists continue to sound the alarm on climate change and the drastic impact it is having (and will have) on day-to-day lives and construction. He will share his expertise with attendees by examining the impacts of climate change on urban living, energy consumption and the role doors and windows will play in sustainable and resilient design.
Dr. Prettenthaler holds a Ph.D. in economics and an M.Sc. with honors in environmental system sciences, both from the University of Graz, a Master of Letters degree in philosophy from St. Andrews and a DEA in public economics and Finance from Paris X / Cergy.
After serving as an assistant professor at the University of Graz, Austria, he steadily built up the environmental economics group at Joanneum Research. He’s served as the director of LIFE Institute for Climate, Energy and Society since 2016 and is also a lecturer at Graz University of Technology.
