Gerkin Windows and Doors, a manufacturer in the door and window industry, recently announced it was named ‘Nebraska Business of the Year’ by Nebraska Diplomats LLC. The recognition came at the Nebraska Ag and Economic Conference held in Kearney, Neb., on August 8, 2023.

The award was presented to Gerkin Windows and Doors by Governor Jim Pillen, honoring the company for its contribution to the economic base, economic stability of their community and the state of Nebraska. The company says the award further acknowledges the company’s achievements towards the growth of the company.

Parallel to the award the company has also announced a $14 million investment to expand its South Sioux City campus. The company says the move, slated for initiation later this year, is a testament to its commitment to growth, marking 32 consecutive years of company expansion and development.

The company currently operates within a 268,000 square-foot facility, employing 280. Officials say the expansion is expected to add an additional 100,000 square feet of operational space.
