The International Code Council Board of Directors announced that Dominic Sims, Chief Building Official, has been appointed to the position of CEO. Sims previously held positions as interim CEO and chief operating officer.

“Dominic’s strong business acumen and commitment to accountability are complemented by a unique combination of ICC knowledge and experience, and a sincere affinity for our members,” says Ronald Piester, president of the ICC board of directors.

“The ICC is an exceptional association and I have always been proud to be a part of a group of professionals that hold public safety in such high regard,” Sims says.

“This is a pivotal time at ICC, in our industry and for many standards development organizations,” Sims continues. “There is no doubt that our members have faced significant change brought on by recent financial stress, but as economic conditions continue to improve the Code Council is in a unique position to take advantage of emerging opportunities on behalf of our members.”
