Simonton Windows Are Featured on Today Show

Simonton Windows supplied its impact-resistant Simonton StormBreaker Plus windows to the NBC Today Show on July 9, 2005 for a segment on hurricane tips and products. Ed the Plumber, from HGTV, came on the show and walked host Campbell Brown through several products that homeowners should know about if they live in severe weather areas.

At the conclusion to the five-minute segment, Ed and Campbell took baseball bats and struck mounted Simonton StormBreaker Plus products. Both bats simply bounced off the window without causing a fracture or crack. Ed the Plumber then explained to Campbell that the impact-resistant windows are so strong that flying debris from a storm will not shatter them.

While the company's logo was removed from the windows and company name was not mentioned, a spokesperson for Simonton said it was a wonderful segment for the fenestration industry as a whole.
