Quanex Promotes Mikron's Paul Warner

Quanex Corp. of Kent, Wash., a manufacturer of value-added engineered materials and components serving the building products markets, announced that Paul W. Warner has been promoted to the newly created position of senior vice president of its building products segment. Warner had been president of Quanex's Mikron Industries business since 1993.

Quanex's building products segment operates a number of companies that supply components to the window and door industry. In addition to Mikron, the segment consists of HOMESHIELD, TruSeal and Nichols Aluminum.

In his new assignment, Warner will be responsible for finding strategic acquisitions and creating alliances for the building products segment, relying on his extensive worldwide experience and contacts in the door and window industries. He will also assist in finding ways to optimize the value proposition for all of Quanex's companies to better serve customers' needs.

Warner began his career more than 35 years ago at Viking Industries in Portland, Ore., later moving to Mikron, first as director of marketing and then as president. From early in his career, Warner has been heavily involved in industry associations including the California Association of Window Manufacturers and the Sealed Insulated Glass Manufacturers Association, where he served as president. He is currently a board member of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association and remains active within the Window and Door Manufacturers Association.
Michael R. Bayles, president of the building products segment, will assume the operational duties vacated by Warner.
