Mikron Announces New President

Mikron announced today that David R. Wemmer has accepted the position of president. Wemmer, a top level manager with 28 years of experience, will begin on September 18th.

Michael Bayles, who has been the acting president since early this year, will continue as president of the building products group of Quanex Corp., the parent company of Mikron.

"Wemmer's past experience and successes running Milgard Windows' PVC extrusion operation has equipped him with extensive knowledge and presence within the window business. In addition, his prior management positions in other building supply categories with Ingersol-Rand will broaden the kind of lean thinking and programs we continue to implement at Mikron. Wemmer's background of customer focus and continuous improvement discipline will help keep Mikron competitive, growing and profitable," said Bayles.

Prior to Wemmer's employment at Milgard and Ingersol-Rand, he held management positions of increasing responsibilities at Westinghouse and Hewlett Packard. He holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in industrial technology and a Masters of Business Administration both from San Jose State University.
