Manufacturers Show Off their Wares at IBS in Orlando

Homebuilding professionals descended on the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., yesterday for the International Builders' Show (IBS).

This year's show features suppliers spanning more than 300 categories ranging across every aspect of the residential and light construction fields. Attendees also have more than 290 educational sessions from which to choose.

DWM stopped by two manufacturers' booths, Silver Line Windows and Marvin Windows and Doors.

While Silver Line didn't unveil any new products this year, the company says the most exciting thing happening at the company is its association with Andersen Windows. Andersen Corp. completed its purchase of Silver Line Windows on July 5, 2006.

Marvin Windows and Doors has launched a number of new products at the show. The company is offering its own line of architectural hardware for doors, and the line is also compatible with sliding doors.

The company is also offering a ten-foot raised panel exterior door, and has made standard nine casing window profiles which come in 19 different colors.

In addition, the company unveiled a new double-hung round-top window, which it says is very popular in historic warehouse buildings.

IBS officials have boasted that 100,000 professionals will attend this year's show, but the consensus among many exhibitors on the first day was that attendance was down from last year. The show will continue through February 10.
