AWFS® Vegas Makes Tradeshow Week's Top 50

The AWFS®Fair was recently seated at number 42 on the Tradeshow Week 200, up nine spots from 51 in 2003. The Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the AWFS®Fair, July 18-21, 2007, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"We were thrilled two years ago when we received the "Fastest 50" Award from Tradeshow Week and now we are so proud to be in the top 50 of the Tradeshow Week 200. The association and our members have worked very hard and space selection and exhibitor enrollment are tracking well-ahead of our 2005 show. We are anxious to continue developing this event into a dynamic, destination experience that's not only a great business forum, but also a lot of fun," said Skip Hem, Royal Plywood vice president, composite panel division, and AWFS president.

The move to Las Vegas in 2005 was significant for the association and its members. The proof came with an immediate boost in exhibitor space sales, overall attendance and business written by exhibiting companies. The Las Vegas Convention Center has become a popular trade show venue in recent years. Forty-four of the Tradeshow Week 200 shows are currently held in Las Vegas.

The AWFS®Fair will offer more than 500,000 square feet of modern show space well-suited for an international trade event. At the priority space selection deadline, more than 368,000 square feet of exhibit space had already been reserved, representing a 26 percent boost over previous space commitments for the same time period as the 2005 show.

"Hopefully we can jump at least nine more spots by the end of the 2007 show," continued Hem.
