Pella Corporation Once Again Named to Fortune's "Best Companies to Work For" List

For the eighth consecutive year, Pella Corporation has been named to FORTUNE magazine's annual "100 Best Companies to Work For" listing. Pella Corporation ranked No. 59 overall in the 2007 ratings of companies of all sizes.

Pella has achieved this recognition based on the way in which it provides benefits, development opportunities and a quality work environment for all team members, according to a press release issued by the company. A total of 446 companies sought to be included on the 2007 FORTUNE list, and, 100,000 workers evaluated their employers.

Pella Corporation president and chief executive officer Mel Haught said the FORTUNE honor is a reflection of a work environment where team members are valued, appreciated and heavily involved in driving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.

"We're extremely proud of the accomplishments of Pella's team members and the reputation they've earned for quality and innovation in satisfying our customers' window and door needs," Haught said. "It is always gratifying when an objective third party recognizes the strength of our company and the collective strength of our team members."

The complete list and related stories appears in the January 22 issue of FORTUNE, available on newsstands January 15 and now available online at

"The 100 Best Companies to Work For" list is compiled for FORTUNE by Robert Levering and Milton Moskowitz of the Great Place to Work Institute in San Francisco, and based on two criteria: an evaluation of the policies and culture of each company, and the opinions of the company's employees. The latter is given more weight; two-thirds of the total score comes from employee responses to a 57-question survey sent to a minimum of 400 randomly selected employees from each company. Companies are scored in four areas: credibility (communication to employees), respect (opportunities and benefits), fairness (compensation, diversity), and pride/camaraderie (philanthropy, celebrations).

Companies that are at least seven years old and have 1,000 or more employees are eligible for the list. Information about applying for the next list can be found at
