Andersen, SoftLite and ProVia Land ENERGY STAR Sustained Excellence Award
May 10th, 2022 by Travis RainsThe Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced the winners of the 2022 ENERGY STAR Awards. Andersen Corporation of Minnesota, and SoftLite LLC and ProVia LLC, both of Ohio, received the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award.
A joint news release from the EPA and DOE noted there were 210 winning organizations in total, all of which are contributing to America’s transition to clean energy.
“We know it’s going to take all of us working together to tackle the climate crisis, and the 2022 ENERGY STAR award-winning partners are demonstrating what it takes to build a more sustainable future,” says EPA Administrator Michael S. Regan. “These companies are showing once again that taking action in support of a clean energy economy can be good not only for the environment, but also for business and customers.”
The award for sustained excellence goes to those companies that have demonstrated a commitment to energy efficiency year after year. According to the release, some of Andersen’s accomplishments that resulted in the award include the expanded use of a new and innovative thin triple glass option (Enhanced Triple Pane glass) to window product lines. Anderson also partnered with a home improvement retailer to feature ENERGY STAR in a 12-week campaign on Google and YouTube, which reportedly generated more than 15 million impressions.
This is the company’s eighth Sustained Excellence Award and the 13th time it has been recognized by the program.
“Andersen is committed to improving energy efficiency in the home through not only our own innovations, but also through our support of externally developed disruptive technology solutions that have the potential to elevate the industry in profound ways,” says Brandon Berg, senior vice president of research, development and innovation. “Every day we build windows and doors that help lower energy bills and contribute to an overall healthy home and healthier environment. By investing in companies like Ubiquitous Energy, we hope to inspire more ideas and more innovative solutions to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon footprints and contribute to a healthier planet for generations to come.”
SoftLite Windows & Doors of Streetsboro, Ohio, received the award after achieving a nearly 40% increase in training participation through improved online efforts featuring ENERGY STAR. The company also provided ENERGY STAR training for more than 5,000 in-house employees and more than 6,000 retail, dealer and contractor employees. This is the ninth consecutive year the company has earned the Partner of the Year Award and the seventh year it received the Sustained Excellence Award.
“Being an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year is more than just an award for SoftLite,” says Mark Hobbs, vice president of sales. “Energy efficiency is the keystone for how SoftLite operates and manufactures its products. We are honored to be recognized by the EPA and DOE for our efforts.”
Throughout the course of 2021, 100% of window and door models offered by ProVia, of Sugarcreek, Ohio, included options that were ENERGY STAR certified. Also, 96% of window sales and 88% of door sales were ENERGY STAR models, according to the release. In addition, the company promoted a replacement window energy efficiency calculator, which helps homeowners find an estimate for energy savings from choosing ENERGY STAR replacement windows.
“At ProVia, we engage in continuous innovation to bring top-performing products to market, as evidenced by this, our 15th ENERGY STAR award,” says Brian Miller, ProVia president and CEO. “We also pursue ambitious sustainability practices across our organization. We’re honored to help American families and businesses save energy and money every day.”
