Earlier this week, Metrie announced the acquisition of BWI Distribution, Louisiana Millwork and Florida Made Door from Owens Corning.
Metrie officials said the acquisition, the company’s eighth since 2020, “enhances” its total millwork solutions for customers in the Eastern U.S.
“We understand how to build winning partnerships with our customers,” said Kent Bowie, CEO and president of Metrie. “The number one service enhancement they have asked of us is to go further along the door supply chain, into pre-hanging and fabrication, finishing and painting, and large project coordination such as job-site delivery. This is what we have been able to do on the West Coast through our Metrie EL & EL business, and now we will have East Coast industry leadership through three high-quality, well-established businesses, which will fit perfectly into the Metrie brand portfolio.”
Ben Lavellee, Metrie’s chief operating officer, said the company’s relationship with the Owens Corning Doors business (formerly Masonite) goes back more than 40 years.
“We understand each other’s skillsets and strengths, and bringing the talented teams from BWI, Louisiana Millwork, and Florida Made Door into the Metrie brand and community of branches will deepen that relationship and make for a seamless transition for existing and new customers,” Lavellee said.
