G-M Wood Products announced with deep sorrow the passing of its founder, Gerald Micho.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our founder, Gerald Micho, on October 18, 2025,” the company said in a statement of remembrance, adding, “He had a total of 66 years in the wood/lumber industry. He got his start by unloading box cars by hand. This eventually led him to founding G-M Wood Products 38 years ago. Gerald and his son Mark built our company on a foundation of integrity, hard work, and lasting relationships.”
Micho, 86, was born in Bay City, Michigan, on August 15, 1939, and was married to his wife, Eileen, for 65 years at the time of his passing. He is survived by his wife, their children, Mark and Faith Micho, and Julie and George Bera, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother, sister, and a number of extended family members, according to his obituary on Mlife.com.
“Beyond his leadership, Gerald will be remembered as a man of integrity, kindness, and generosity,” company officials said. “He touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire us each day. He will be missed.”
