Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope Inc. (OBE) announced it will close one of its glass facilities. According to [DWM] sister publication USGlass magazine, the company will discontinue operations at its facility in Hauppauge, New York, on Aug. 5, 2025. Officials say products will now be sourced from locations in Moorestown, New Jersey; Syracuse; and Westbrook, Maine. The company anticipates no delivery impacts, as business operations continue and orders are filled.

“All orders will continue to be fulfilled as usual, and you will work with the same customer service, estimating and sales personnel throughout the transition and beyond,” writes Steve Dean, president of OBE’s glass and glazing systems division.

The closing of its Hauppauge facility marks the second in recent months, including a Los Angeles-based facility at the end of last year (Dec. 31, 2024). Officials said the closing in Los Angeles was part of efforts to optimize operations. The company has continued to serve the Southern California market from facilities in Fremont, California, and Phoenix.

OBE was a CRH Company, before it was acquired by KPS Capital Partners LP (KPS), a global private equity firm, in May 2022. OBE acquired C.R. Laurence in 2015. The company currently has 24 locations in the United States and 87 worldwide.
