Miter Brands announced last week the death of James Milgard, Sr., who company officials say passed away unexpectedly on January 31, at the age of 84.
Describing Milgard as “a visionary leader, trusted mentor, and cherished friend,” the company is honoring his life and legacy as an early leader of the business that bore his name: Milgard Manufacturing. Miter officials say his leadership at Milgard Manufacturing propelled the company into “one of North America’s most respected window and door companies.”
Even after stepping away from daily operations, Milgard remained connected to the industry he helped build, offering wisdom and encouragement that inspired all who knew him, Miter officials said in a company statement.
Miter company officials released the following statement: “As we remember Jim, we do so with gratitude for his leadership, admiration for his accomplishments, and a deep sense of loss at his passing. We will carry forward his values, ensuring that the company he helped build remains a testament to his life’s work. On behalf of everyone at Miter Brands, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Jim’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he enriched. Rest in peace, Jim. Your legacy lives on.”
