Two door and window manufacturers started the year on a positive note—each by expanding operations. Marvin opened a new distribution center at 205 Baker Hollow Rd. in Windsor, Connecticut. Meanwhile, St. Cloud Window invested $3.65 million in real estate expansions and capital equipment.

Officials for Marvin said the company’s expansion in Connecticut will enhance the efficiency of its distribution network, while creating additional jobs in the region. The new center quadruples the operating footprint of its previous area facility.

With its latest investments in Central Minnesota, officials for St. Cloud Window, a manufacturer of custom aluminum doors, windows, curtain walls, and storefront systems, said their company will add 19 jobs.

Marvin has an expansive dealer network and customer base in the Northeast, officials said. The new Windsor Distribution Center was designed to serve as a central hub where products will be consolidated, shipped and delivered along the East Coast.

“Our latest distribution center in Windsor is [a] further demonstration of our commitment to providing exceptional service to our dealers and customers,” said Marvin president Darrin Peterson. “We also look forward to providing great career opportunities to the Windsor-area community.”

Marvin partnered with Maugel Destefano Architects and Polar Design Build on the custom project, which includes details such as electric vehicle chargers, LED lighting, paired with natural light throughout all parts of the facility, and electric forklifts for reduced indoor air pollution and fuel costs.

“As Marvin continues to grow, centralized operations at our distribution centers help us reduce transit times, enhance delivery accuracy and improve our overall efficiency,” said Chris Hoerth, director of logistics. “We’re also proud that all 25 of our area employees have transitioned to our new facility and we look forward to welcoming an additional 65 new team members to Marvin in the months ahead.”

St. Cloud Window is expanding in 2025.

“We’re excited to continue building on the company’s proud legacy,” said “We’re excited to continue building on the company’s proud legacy,” said Paul Harry, owner and CEO of St. Cloud Window.

The company will break ground on the expansion early this year, he said.

“Our products are engineered to meet rigorous acoustic standards and preserve historic aesthetics, ensuring exceptional noise control, durability, and long-term reliability to meet both current and future demands,” Harry added, who purchased the company in February 2024.

St. Cloud teamed up with The Brookshire Company, a Minnesota-based commercial real estate firm specializing in site selection, to work with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) on securing a $325,000 financial incentives package, as well as received “enthusiastic support” from the City of Sauk Rapids, officials said.

“A huge credit to DEED for their commitment to helping businesses grow in Minnesota and for seeing the tremendous value St. Cloud Window brings to the community,” said Justin Erickson, vice president of site selection at The Brookshire Company. “This is a major investment that will bring excellent jobs to the region and allow this iconic company to expand its positive reach for another 60-plus years.”
