The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is hosting a webinar on October 17 to instruct attendees on how to use the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Energy Star tools and resources for designing energy-efficient buildings.
Karen P. Butler, EPA senior project manager, will lead the webinar, providing attendees with information on how to achieve EPA’s Designed to Earn the Energy Star recognition for efficient design projects.
The organization is marketing its event around the opportunity for attendees to learn how to set whole-building energy targets to supplement energy codes and determine if design strategies are aligned with building performance and decarbonization goals. Attendees will also learn how to benchmark and evaluate a projects’ energy use from design through operation—helping attendees make informed decisions about the most efficient and cost-effective strategies for reducing energy use and greenhouse gas emissions.
