Officials for BÜRKLE announced the company recently finished installing a new laminated glass line at Viwinco Windows & Doors. Officials said the installation continues BÜRKLE’s growth in the glass and fenestration space, while allowing Viwinco to gain capacity and efficiency at its Morgantown, Pa.-based plant.

“One of the biggest advantages of the new Burkle line is the flow,” said Michael Duncan, general manager for Viwinco. “We are getting a continuous flow of smaller bed loads instead of large batches every few hours.”

With an in-line system, Viwinco can now laminate a variety of glass sizes in a single pass. Officials said the new line also reduces energy costs by up to 60%. Viwinco was also an early adopter of solar energy to help power its plant. A neighboring solar field supplies 40% of the company’s annual energy consumption in its manufacturing facility with over 7,800 solar panels.

“We are so happy that the team at ViWinco is loving the easy-LAM IFL,” said Kyle Lindersmith, sales manager, PV-glass lamination and coatings, for Burkle North America.
