Jim Parker

Steves & Sons recently announced the loss of team member and dedicated friend Jim Parker. Parker was a member of the Steves & Sons family, officials said, describing him as “a true force of nature in our industry.”

“This was the day that Superman died,” said Tres Steves, vice president and general manager, about Parker’s passing on May 26.

Steves said Parker, who had a 23-year career with the company, exemplified leadership, can-do attitude, fierce loyalty and an unparalleled expertise in a wide range of fields. “His legacy will continue to be remembered for generations to come,” the company wrote in a public statement.

As part of his professional achievements, Parker was an advocate for engineering solutions and equipment designed to enhance every element of manufacturing processes, officials said. He was responsible for updating the design and construction of the company’s door plants in Virginia, Tennessee, Texas and most recently in Brigham City, Utah.

A company statement describes him as a “true Steves patriot” who has made a lasting impact on countless customers, suppliers, team members and the company.

“His spirit of full-throttled energy and dedication to all things ‘Jim-gineered’ will be sorely missed,” the statement said.
