Loewen, a premium door and window company from Steinbach, Manitoba, Canada, recently announced that Neil Fast will be joining Loewen as president and CEO, effective January 2023. The company says Fast is a native of Winnipeg with extensive experience in the building products space and a proven track record.

Past roles include president, vice president and general manager with the Brock White organization, and regional vice-president of White Cap Supply Canada. He lives in Winnipeg with his family.

The company also expressed appreciation to Al Babiuk, who will be retiring from the role of president and CEO on December 31. Babiuk led Loewen through “tumultuous and challenging times” and the company says he leaves an outstanding team, including the “highest quality of distribution and supply partners in the industry.” He also leaves Loewen positioned for continued opportunities for success within our unique market position.

“I can’t say thank you enough to all of the Loewen teams, our partners, and our industry associations and competitors over the past 20 years, for the privilege of being allowed to have the leadership roles and relationships that I have had,” Babiuk said on his pending retirement, “I look forward to many years of further success for the company, our team, and our partners.”

Additionally, Loewen announced that Bill Holt is joining the company this month as vice president, sales and customer experience. He will report to Steve Donner, senior vice president, sales and customer experience. Holt has almost 30 years of experience in the industry, including time with Jeld-Wen and other door and window manufacturers.

“We’re excited that Bill will be bringing his long track-record of success in partnering and supporting customers to the Loewen sales dealer network,” said Steve Donner. “We will be introducing Bill to customers, dealers, staff, the industry, and our communities more extensively in coming months.”

The company also announced the promotions of Tyler Sampson and Andrew Kelly from territory managers to regional sales managers for the East and West U.S. regions. Loewen says both have proven themselves as strong leaders and representatives as they support their dealers.

Sampson has more than six years’ experience with Loewen in the role of Northeastern territory manager, he has worked previously as a project manager for a general contractor and with Pella. Kelly has more than 18 months’ experience with Loewen in the role of Southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico territory manager. He came to Loewen with 10 years’ experience with Andersen.

Sampson and Kelly will assume their new duties on January 1, 2023.
