Quanex revealed its 2022 Bill & Iris Griffiths Scholarship and William A. McHattie Scholarship winners. The scholarships are made possible by the Quanex Foundation.

The Quanex Foundation’s Scholarship Program provides scholarships to students of Quanex employees. The program supports four-year and two-year college students and vocational or technical school students. Winners were chosen based on several criteria, including academic accomplishments, community service and extracurricular activities.

“Congratulations to these students and their families, who have worked so hard to get to where they are today,” says George Wilson, Quanex president and CEO. “From everyone at Quanex, we couldn’t be prouder of their achievements and wish them all the best as they take these next steps for their future.”

The winners of the 2022 Bill & Iris Griffiths Scholarship are Jaylynn Carpenter and Harrison Lee. Jaylynn is the daughter of Tony Carpenter, a maintenance technician at Quanex Homeshield in Rice Lake, Wis. Jaylynn is enrolled at Northwood Technical School, where she is pursuing a degree in registered nursing.

Harrison is the son of Marcos Lee, the director of audit services at Quanex in Houston. Harrison is enrolled at Texas A&M University, with an eye toward mechanical engineering.

The winners of the 2022 William A. McHattie Scholarship are Haley Juetten and Matthew Howell. Haley is the daughter of Chris Juetten, a production supervisor at Quanex Custom Components in St. Cloud, Minn. Haley is enrolled at Concordia College, with a focus in psychology. Matthew is the son of Travis Howell, a maintenance manager at Quanex IG Systems in Cambridge, Ohio. Matthew is enrolled at the University of Akron, where he is pursuing a degree in chemical engineering.

“The entire Quanex family wishes each of these students luck in their academic endeavors this fall and beyond,” says Wilson. “It’s our hope that these scholarships will help them flourish and make an impact on their communities now and into the future.”
