Doors and Windows

On the Defense

Doorframer announced three new products for its portfolio. The new DF6 Nut Closure is one of its quickest door closures to date, according to the company. Reversible for 5/8-inch or ¾-inch jambs, the closure takes a one-quarter turn to secure.

The latest DF7 Claw Closure also secures doors with jambs between 5/8-inch to ¾-inch, snapping into place after a swift slide over the end of the barrel. The company also spotlighted its new Split Jamb Bottom Skid (SJBS1), which defends the bottom of jambs and casing in split jamb units.

Dark and Durable

SoftLite Windows and Doors now offers black window frames in select designs, providing design flexibility and a modern upgrade for any home’s exterior and interior. According to the company, the new color is in response to overwhelming customer demand, and is available on its Elements and Imperial Elite window lines, as well as select Kingsroyal Glide sliding patio door designs. Operating styles include double-hung, slider, picture and casement windows, as well as a variety of custom-shaped windows.

Officials say the new black exterior and interior laminate is easy to clean and offers homeowners “endless possibilities” for styles and palettes. The new option also offers exterior durability, resists environmental pollutants, is safe in all environmental climates, and comes with a 20-year warranty and limited lifetime warranty.

Eliminate the Defects

In order to keep defects out of final products, the Cyclone Upcut Saw and RazorGage PocketHole Saw from RazorGage scan materials for defects, mark them with a fluorescent crayon and then optimize remaining parts to fit into approved areas.

Meanwhile, the company’s RazorOptimal Software creates a cutting solution based on length of scanned stock and location of defects, officials say. The software optimizes lumber yields, while automatically advancing stock to cutting positions. Information from the cutlist is then printed onto the stock.

The company’s caliper measuring table is a PC-based single-axis table with an internal carriage featuring a double bearing block Hiwin linear bearing system and a magnetic non-contact linear encoder. RazorOptimal software runs on Windows and can be operated via the table’s 23-inch touch screen.
