Industry expert Carl Wagus recently passed away. According to the Fenestration and Glazing Industry Alliance (FGIA) officials, Wagus served as technical director of the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (a predecessor to FGIA) from 1994-2005.

“Carl was the consummate expert on all things fenestration, retaining more knowledge about our industry products and standards than several of us combined,” said FGIA executive director Janice Yglesias.

He was also a long-time member of Cary United Methodist Church and a member of the Fox Valley Division of the National Model Railroad Association.

Wagus, who was 75 years old, passed away December 29, at his home in Cary, Ill. He is survived by his wife Carroll L. (Geary) Wagus; his children, Cynthia Brown, Robert (Sara) Wagus and Barbara (Greg) Cima; his grandchildren, Allison Brown, Natasha Brown, Jonathan Wagus, Katherine Wagus and Conrad Cima; his siblings, David (Sandra) Wagus, Marjorie (Doug) Miller, Karen Stiteler and Wesley (Debra) Herda; and a God-daughter, Robyn Gomillion.

Private services were held for the family, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and a public memorial service will be held at a later date.
