IAS Adds General Manager

After tripling its manufacturing space, Integrated Automation Systems (IAS) has added Vista Windows co-founder Jim Collins as general manager.

“Automated raw glass storage and handling systems are the fastest-growing business for us and the reason for adding space and expertise,” said Ryan McHugh, vice president of sales. “And Jim was available at the right time to come in to manage our growing operations.”

Collins co-found Vista Windows in 2001 and served as chief operations officer, among other positions. Before joining Vista, he was vice president of manufacturing for Polaris Windows and Doors.

IAS moved automated glass handling system fabrication and assembly to the additional building early this year. The 16,000-square-foot space is a quarter-mile from the 10,000-square-foot main building in Bedford Heights, Ohio.

Andersen Appoints Annie Zipfel as Chief Marketing Officer

Andersen Corp. has appointed Annie Zipfel senior vice president and chief marketing officer.

Zipfel is responsible for building Andersen’s brands, expanding the company’s customer base and strengthening the loyalty of existing customers. She will lead a product management strategy focused on bringing consumer and channel partner insights into product development and integrating the product portfolio across the company.

Zipfel has spent her career in marketing, serving in a variety of leadership roles in retail and consumer goods organizations. Most recently, Zipfel served as Starbucks’ glob-al vice president of category and brand for the Roastery and Reserve brands, the company’s premium and flagship segments. Prior to this role, Zipfel led Starbucks CRM and loyalty innovation, including the development of personalization technology. Previously, she held marketing leadership positions at REI, Target and General Mills.

ODL Names Jamison Eige VP of Sales and Marketing

Jamison Eige is the new vice president of sales and marketing for the retail and OEM channel at ODL Inc.

Eige has a broad background of successful sales leadership in the U.S. door and window category. Most recently, he was the director of sales for PGT Innovations in North Venice, Fla., where his experience included relationship management, new product development and strategic planning in both residential and commercial business.

VPI Quality Windows Adds New Sales and Marketing VP

VPI Quality Windows of Spokane, Wash., has hired Saul Schnurman for the newly created position of vice president of sales and marketing. In this role, Schnurman will join the organization’s executive leadership team, reporting to president and CEO Burke Blevins.

Schnurman, an executive with more than 30 years of fenestration experience, most recently served as the vice president of sales for Mikron Industries. Prior to that, he spent 14 years with Milgard Manufacturing in a variety of leadership roles including sales and as general manager.

Brian Leizerowicz Joins Western Window Systems

Western Window Systems has hired Brian Leizerowicz as commercial sales director. In this newly created role, Leizerowicz will provide leader-ship and coordination across Western Window Systems’ commercial projects.

Leizerowicz was formerly senior sales manager of the western United States for window manufacturer EFCO Corp. Before joining EFCO in 2013, he was an area sales director for Traco, a manufacturer of architectural fenestration products (acquired by Alcoa in 2010). Earlier in his career, he was a sales consultant for architectural glass fabricator and distributor J.E. Berkowitz.

Huttig Adds Two General Managers

Huttig Building Products has added Scott Walter as the new general manager of the SoCal California (Rancho Cucamonga) branch and Mike Andrews as the general manager of the Augusta, Maine, branch.Walter most recently served as a general manager for J&W Lumber. He began his career in the retail industry and gained experience in store operations, sales and general management while working for Staples, Comp USA


Hoppe Promotes Matt Taylor to Product Development Director

Hoppe North America has promoted Matt Taylor to the new position of director of product development.

The position was created to direct the product innovation processes within the North American division. According to the company, Taylor will be responsible for the continued development of cutting-edge technologies and product innovation.

Taylor has served as product manager for Hoppe North America since August 2006.

Thomas Promoted to CFO at Stürtz

Stürtz Machinery Inc. of Twinsburg, Ohio, has promoted Michael Thomas to chief financial officer. Thomas has headed up Stürtz’s accounting and administration groups since 1997. He is a licensed CPA and Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Quanex Names Williamson Cambridge Plant Manager

Quanex Building Products has promoted Janice Williamson to plant manager at the company’s IG Systems division in Cambridge, Ohio.

Williamson has been with Quanex for six years. She most recently served as mixing production manager, leading the group to become a self-man-aged team with the best safety record in the IG Systems division.
