WinDoor has moved to a virtual event for 2020 and will be known as The Marketplace by WinDoor, and will be available to attendees for a full year.

Fenestration Canada, organizers of WinDoor, announced today that the event, which was scheduled for November 18-19 in Montreal, is moving to a virtual one for 2020, and will be known as The Marketplace by WinDoor.

Stéphane Labelle, executive director, Fenestration Canada, made the announcement live today via zoom and said a virtual meeting “was the next best thing” to a live event.

“It is really hard to guarantee a regular attendance and a good return on investment if we held the event during or after the pandemic,” he said. “We also wondered if companies would even allow their staff to attend events.

“We would have loved to see you in person but it’s just impossible at this point,” he added.

Fenestration Canada is more than ready for the event. Labelle pointed out that the website received 7,000 visits in the past month proving that visitors are moving online to gain information. The association held its Spring Conference virtually earlier this month with great results.

“We doubled attendance for the spring conference so we expect the same results for WinDoor,” said Labelle. “It gives us a lot of hope.”

Exhibitors who sign on to The Marketplace “will stay relevant for the full year,” he added as the site will stay up for 12 months, but there will be a WinDoor Week in the platform when the show as originally scheduled.

“We wanted to make the decision now so we have the time to do it right,” added Labelle.

As for 2021, the organization plans to resume an in person event in Toronto, followed by a return to Montreal the following year.
