With the U.S. economy slowly reopening and grim predictions for housing hanging over the industry, officials for Polish door and window manufacturer Yawal S.A. announced Wednesday they’re proceeding with opening U.S.-based operations. Yawal USA will initially offer windows and sliding door systems, they said, focusing on the residential and light commercial markets. To help lead those efforts, the company named Ken Cariello as director of business development. Cariello previously served as VP of sales for PVC Industries, a manufacturer of vinyl doors and windows.

A second-generation family business, Yawal was founded in Poland in 1990, where officials say it helped to “pioneer” the country’s aluminum systems industry. In addition to doors and windows, the manufacturer produces façade systems, profile extrusions, anodizing and painting services.

According to a company representative, Yawal USA has produced several projects and is now focusing on growing its sales representation.
