Quanex Building Products announced today that the company hired a new vice president of human resources. Kim Garcia has over 20 years of experience, “driving successful employee engagement and retention initiatives, developing and executing talent management strategies, and spearheading leadership development and organizational design programs,” officials said. Garcia has held several key leadership roles over the years, including in human resources for medium- to large-sized companies across several industries. She most recently served as vice president of human resources for Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and Spanish from Rice University, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education degree in interdisciplinary leadership.

“Kim is skilled in guiding executive-level leaders in multiple industries and practices, leading in an honest, pragmatic, respectful way,” says George Wilson, president and CEO of Quanex. “I’m confident she’ll help us drive great results at Quanex.”

Garcia reports directly to Wilson, effective March 16.
