In a heartfelt announcement today, officials for Wakefield Equipment reported that founder Howard Ron Ober passed away, earlier this week, at the age of 73.

The company honors Ober, an entrepreneur and businessperson, for revolutionizing the door and window assembly process, by introducing new equipment to manufacturers.

“Ron was a force who came along at the right time for the window and door industry. He was an example to us all and I strive to continue his vision …,” says Owen Cleary, current co-owner of Wakefield Equipment.

Visitation will be held November 15, 2019, from 2-8 p.m. at Steinbauer Funeral Home in Solon, Ohio. Services will be held November 16 at Church of Western Reserve, on Fairmount Blvd. in Pepper Pike, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ACLU, 125 Broad St., 18th floor New York, N.Y.

“The entire Wakefield Equipment team shares Ron’s customer service philosophies and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue his vision. The window and door industry lost a great man,” says Kellen Wise, co-owner of Wakefield Equipment.
