Cascadia Windows and Doors received the International Passive House Conference’s aesthetic and innovation award for their Universal Series fiberglass windows. The series was recognized for its innovative qualities and cost-efficiency.

“We’re very excited to be recognized by Passive House International for our Universal Series windows,” says Cascadia president Mike Battistel.

The conference, which took place in China this year, was created as part of the AZEB-Project—a European Union supported initiative aimed at reducing costs associated with nearly zero energy buildings (NZEB’s). A passive house certification is required to enter the contest and this year 23 companies from 12 countries entered.

Originally receiving its passive house certification in March 2018, Cascadia’s Universal Series windows can improve a building’s thermal performance by 50% to 150%, compared to traditional commercial aluminum windows, according to the company.
