In recognition of breast cancer awareness month, 84 Lumber is helping support those who are battling the disease through several different efforts.

On October 1, the company switched to a pink logo on its social media channels and also on the dasher board at PPG Paints Arena in honor of its partnership with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The company sold over a thousand shirts special T-shirts this year raising $5,600 in donations for the American Cancer Society.

“Breast cancer can have a devastating impact on those who are diagnosed, as well as their families,” says vice president of marketing Amy Smiley. “Every year, 84 Lumber shows solidarity with countless others in raising awareness of this disease.”

The company also recognized breast cancer survivors at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ home game as part of the league’s Crucial Catch cancer-awareness campaign.

“It’s our hope that by spreading this important message and increasing education, we can finally find a cure,” Smiley says.
